How it works, step by step
You make one phone call. From that moment, every step below is our responsibility — and you are kept informed at each one.
-
You call, we listen
Day or night, a person answers — not a machine. We ask only what is needed and give you a fixed, final price on that first call.
-
We take over the paperwork
Death certificate, coroner's permission to leave the UK, embalming and infection certificates, the international mortuary passport — we obtain and check every document.
-
Collection anywhere in the UK
Our team collects your loved one from any hospital, hospice, coroner's facility or funeral home in the country, in a licensed mortuary vehicle.
-
The journey home
By road in our own internationally certified fleet — or by air when preferred. You receive confirmation at departure, at the border and at arrival.
-
Handover to the family
We deliver to the family home, the church or the local funeral director — anywhere in the destination country, at the address you choose.
What does repatriation from the UK cost?
Most companies say “price on request”. We publish ours. Road repatriation with our own fleet is usually significantly less than air freight — and the price we agree on the first call is fixed and final, with nothing added later.
- Collection from any city in the UK
- All documents and formalities, both countries
- Regulation coffin for international transport
- Door-to-door road transport, own fleet
- No hidden fees — the quote is the final price

Experience you can lean on
Questions families ask us first
How much does repatriation from the UK cost?
As a verified example, complete road repatriation from the UK to Romania is between €2,800 and €4,200 (≈ £2,400–£3,600), depending on the collection city and the destination — with all formalities in both countries included. For any European route, you receive a fixed, final price on the first call, and our costs page gives you an instant estimate.
How long does repatriation take?
Once the UK paperwork is complete and we set off, road transport to Romania takes 24–48 hours; most European routes are completed within one to three days of departure. The overall timeline depends mainly on how quickly the documents are released — which is exactly the part we push forward every day, and the coroner’s permission usually takes a few days.
What documents are needed, and who obtains them?
Typically: the death certificate, the coroner’s permission to remove the body from England and Wales (the “Out of England” notice), the embalming and freedom-from-infection certificates, and the international mortuary passport. We obtain and check all of them — the family does not chase any paperwork.
What happens if the death occurred at a weekend or on a holiday?
We answer and act 24/7, weekends and holidays included. Some official offices work weekdays only, but everything that can move forward immediately — collection, planning, our own paperwork — starts the moment you call.
